1) Please give us a brief bio of yourself and your creative background.
I started photography in 2006 when I discovered how to obtain photos from a self build remote-controlled camera system that I used to hang on a flying parasail towed by my power-boat. I first specialized in aerial photography with this unique system.
In the meantime, I also started to shoot 360 panoramas, and by combining these two techniques, I managed to create 360 Aerial Panos which back at that time in 2012, was only developed by just a few photographers.
2) What made you become/why did you choose to become a creative?
My aerial and 360 degrees footage were innovative, and I was amazed by the outcome of such spectacular images taken from new angles, offering new perspectives.
I’m sure this pushed me with a sensitive approach to creative photography.
3) Tell us more about your business/company, job profile, and what you do.
After service as a professional freelance commercial photographer in aerial photography, immersive 360 photography, and the creation of photographic virtual tours, I currently pursue projects in which I can apply my creativity and discover new ways of expression.
4) What does “creativity” mean to you?
I’m sure there are many ways to describe it. But I think, for me, it’s the ability to express an inspiration.
5) To you, what makes a “creative” idea and/or design?
Thought and desire.
The combination of these two non-tangible elements can evoke the energy of creation.
6) Tell us about your creative and/or design process.
It begins as an idea. I sketch around it in my mind. If I like it, desire starts to add on.
“How”, is not important. “Why” is everything. Suddenly, I’m inspired.
I keep working on it, and I find myself surrounded by ways of expression.
7) What's your favorite part of the creative process and why?
When I get to the stage of conviction.
Here is where the doors open and I get to choose from a wide range of possibilities.
8) Describe your creative style and its main characteristics.
A Tiny Planet is a surreal concept that represents my experimental process of pushing the medium towards new directions by revealing the hidden landmark of any landscape.
A concept of a fragile planet, floating like a bubble in isolation to protect its valuable ecosystem.
9) Congratulations! As the winner of the 2020 MUSE Creative Awards, what does it mean to you and your company and team to receive this award distinction?
I feel honored, proud, and humbled.
10) Can you explain a bit about the winning work you entered into the 2020 MUSE Creative Awards, and why you chose to enter this project?
“Planets of a Tiny Prince”
Lead by charity and generosity, my mission as The Ruler of all Planets is to serve the world and make it a better place for all to live in. - Tiny Prince -
I decided to create this series to provoke an awakening so we can look at the world differently by changing our perception.
11) What was the biggest challenge with this project?
To find titles and descriptions that would match the images.
12) How has winning an Award developed your practice/career?
It confirms that my work is validated by the best, and it’s a testimony of accomplishment in my career as an Artist.
13) What are your top three (3) favorite things about our industry?
1.- Visualization.
2.- Experimentation.
3.- Creation.
14) What resources would you recommend to someone who wants to improve their skills in the creative industry?
Pay attention to what surrounds you.
Don’t just go from A to B as if nothing else matters.
Observe!
Life has plenty of details from which you’ll be able to get inspired.
15) What is your key to success? Any parting words of wisdom?
Believe it so you can see it!
You have to believe first, to make it happen.
16) Do you have anything else you would like to add to the interview?
Thank you MUSE Awards for your recognition!
Congratulations to all winners!
And for those who didn’t make it this time, keep on going and never give up! :-)
