B&W Tiny Planet-sur-Seine
A Tiny Planet is a surreal concept that represents my experimental process pushing the medium towards new directions.
By revealing the hidden landmark of any landscape.
Something captivating, as when looked at it closely you will find that it is expressing a whole new Microverse.
A concept of a fragile planet, floating like a bubble in isolation to protect its valuable ecosystem.
My vision strives in provoking an awakening to see the world differently by changing our perception.
TECHNIQUE & EQUIPMENT:
High-Resolution Image made from 4 bracketed shots stitched together.
Many hours of dedication in removing distractions and cleaning dirty streets which are always full of chewing gums, cigarette butts, and unfinished road works. As well as removing many people and cars out of the scene in order to highlight the architecture’s cityscape.
Canon EOS 5DMkIII + Sigma 8mm fisheye lens + tripod with panoramic head.
Crowning La Seine
Even before its construction was completed, the tower was already in the eye of the storm of social debates.
She was severely ridiculed by the critics of famous names in the World of Arts and Letters.
But the impossible came true and the tower, with its almost 131 years old, has taken roots.

Scène sur Seine
The Statue of Liberty also brings to mind the torch-lady of Columbia Pictures.
The skyscrapers in the background and a cloudless sky crossed by a ray of frontal light.
The show must go on!

Roller Coaster
The Eternal versus the Ephemeral.
Calm and Rush.
Together, they define the roller coaster of life.
The arch that describes the “Viaduc de Passy” supporting an aerial subway with its constant fast swings, set the pace.

Steel
The art of caging a 300 meter tower.
Eiffel Tower at the background looks like caged inside the massive steel beams of this bridge.
Both metallic structures, the Eiffel Tower and Debilly's Bridge were constructed for the same purpose; The Exposition Universelle de Paris.
They were also meant to be dismantled after the Expo, but here they are, wearing under the sky of Paris.

Magnetized to the surface of the Bir-Hakeim bridge, the stone arch grips the Viaduc de Passy tightly.

Siege of Paris
It sounds incredible that 1175 years ago this site was occupied by 120 Viking ships carrying thousands of men in order to invade France.
Nowadays the flow of the river brings along tourists on board the Bateaux-mouches which are captivated by the "Ile de la Cité" history.

Red-Copper Bridge
Although very short and discreet, the Pont-au-double is not only one of the busiest Parisian bridges, directly connecting the "Quartier Latin" to the "Parvis-Notre-Dame", but it is also the only one exhibiting a copper-red railing that makes it unique.

En Corbeille
A tiny tribute to all those shopkeepers who formerly settled on the corbels of Pont Neuf trading their bric-a-brac, bringing part of that eternal essence to the city.
Contrary to its name, Pont Neuf is the oldest bridge in Paris, 1578-1607.

Tribute
Notre-Dame is no longer up to its past after the terrible fire it suffered in April 2019.
Let's take that feeling as an impulse to move forward and a motivation to learn, question, and therefore, grow.

La Flèche Perdue
The first Spire was constructed in 1230 and lasted until it was dismantled in 1792.
The second Spire was unveiled in 1859 and lasted until the fire of 2019.
The third Spire is planned to be finished in 2024.

Is there a better way to admire this phenomenon in which the sky reveals its colorful spectacle than in Paris?
That is another reason why Paris is also referred to as the City of Light.

The Secret of the eight Cattails
In the middle of Pont Alexandre III, the Nymphs are escorted by eight magnificent cattails.
A choice far from trivial because the cattail symbolizes peace and prosperity.
Just as the magic of the number eight, which evokes perfection and infinity by representing an immutable eternity.

SpyCam
At “Pont des Invalides” you can find a “SpyCam” which is hanging discreetly from a lamppost.
I wonder what’s its purpose. It might be for the surveillance of pedestrians, cars, and boats. Or it might be even for decorating.
Either way, these features have become part of the actual cityscape.
